Mr. Mirak served as the Senior Project Manager and was responsible for overseeing the project's design services. The project involved the renovation of an existing church encompassing approximately 40,500 square feet. The renovated facility includes offices, meeting rooms, a main sanctuary on the first floor, and a sanctuary balcony on the second floor, providing seating for approximately 800 occupants. Built in 1960s, the existing structure features brick and metal siding and is located in downtown Plano.
The building is recognized as a historic structure by the City of Plano, requiring the renovation to carefully preserve its architectural character while modernizing the facility. The exterior mansard metal wall and roof system were removed and replaced with a new stucco exterior. Interior renovations included extensive upgrades throughout the building. To improve accessibility and comply with current building codes, a new elevator was installed in the main lobby, along with ADA-compliant ramps and renovated accessible restrooms. Classrooms, offices, meeting rooms, and restrooms were fully remodeled with new interior finishes and materials.
